David B. O’Connor, 78, of Altoona formerly of Elburn, IL passed away Sunday at UPMC Magee Hospital, Pittsburgh following a brief illness. He was born in Aurora, IL the son of the late John P. and Geraldine E. (Jackson) O’Connor.

 

David was twice married, first to Janette Talbott on August 31, 1975 in Joliet, IL., she preceded him in death in December of 1989. He then married Christine A. Roesch on December 30, 1996 in Mesa, Arizona.

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years; his son, Andrew O’Connor (Sharon) of Davis Junction, IL; his three daughters: Shannon Hansen (Michael) of Middletown, OH, Georgia O’Connor of Romeoville, IL, and Alina O’Connor of Altoona; seven grandchildren: Samantha, Brooklyn, Quinn, Susie, Allie, Claire and Ethan; his twin brother, Dan O’Connor (Linda) of Macomb, IL; four sisters: Joan Willhite of Glendale Heights, IL, Donna O’Connor of Ridgefield, NJ, Rita O’Connor of Glendale Heights, IL and Maureen Majeska (Don) of Winfield, IL. Also surviving are his brother-in-law, Ken Seeman and brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Daun Talbott; sisters-in-law: Polly Menken (Ken) of Fallston, MD, Kate Brazell of Holly Hill, FL, Sharon Najduch (Paul) and Mary Jo Wesner (Kevin) all of Altoona; and a brothers-in-law, Kevin Roesch (Shirley) of Altoona; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

 

David was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Steve Willhite and Bobby Brazell and sister-in-law, Donna Seeman. He retired with over 40 years of service in the plumbing supply industry as a Senior Executive Sales Representative. David was a member at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, was an avid sports fan; also he loved to travel and spend time with his family.
