1965 Classmates
"There is a great good in returning to a landscape that has had extraordinary meaning in one's life. It happens that we return to such places in our minds irresistibly. There are certain villages and towns, mountains and plains that having seen them, walked in them, lived in them even for a day we keep forever in the mind's eye. They become indispensable to our well-being. They define us and we say I am who I am because I have been there."

Comment: I graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and started my retail career on Macy’s training program. After becoming a buyer for Macy’s, I moved to Los Angeles in Southern California in 1973 to accept a retail buying position with Broadway Department Stores, another large department store chain at the time. And as I like to say the rest was history. My late husband also came from the fashion world, and we had a wonderful life together enjoying traveling and our love of the business. But all good things come to an end, and I am on a new journey alone after 39 years. As I like to say “My Third Act.”Now that is a huge adjustment when you were joined at the hip with your partner, but I keep smiling and staying positive. As I always like to say, “I got this far!” I look forward to coming back to Glen Ellen for our 60th high school reunion and seeing all of you again! |
