1965 Classmates
"There is a great good in returning to a landscape that has had extraordinary meaning in one's life. It happens that we return to such places in our minds irresistibly. There are certain villages and towns, mountains and plains that having seen them, walked in them, lived in them even for a day we keep forever in the mind's eye. They become indispensable to our well-being. They define us and we say I am who I am because I have been there."

Hello Everyone, It's hard to believe we will be celebrating our 50 year reunion. Time has gone by fast, but the memories of Glenbard West and wonderful friends are still fresh. I look forward to getting together to reminisce and catch up where life has taken each of us. Life has been generally good with only a few regrets. I will be married 44 years this year to Ellen, whom I met at Western Illinois. We raised 3 boys and now enjoy our first grandson who will be 1 1/2 at the time of our 50th. We moved from Western Springs, IL to Minneapolis, MN in 1988 due to a job transfer. In 2012 we moved to a townhome in Eden Prairie, MN. I worked my entire career for Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent and retired in 1999. I have the usual hobbies: fishing, golf and now pickleball. Also, I volunteer with 8 others restoring WWII aircraft. We completed a WACO CG4A Glider that is on display in a private museum in Granite Falls, MN. We are currently restoring a BT-13 (basic trainer) to flying condition; it will then be donated to the WASP Museum in Sweetwater, TX. Best regards to the class of '65, August, 2020 update: Since my last posting at the time of our 50th reunion, our family added 4 more grandchildren. Now 3 boys and 2 girls ages 6 years to 4 months. Also completed the WWII BT-13 Trainer (pictured) I was working on at that time. One of our volunteers flew it to Sweet Water TX, where our group gifted it to the WASP Museum. Ellen and I are generally healthy and stay active playing Pickleball. Even though Covid 19 has changed everyone’s lifestyle and affected this year’s reunion, hopefully next year, we can celebrate a 56th reunion face to face. I am great full we grew up at a wonderful time to be teenagers and attended Glenbard West. Looking forward to seeing everyone next year to recall those very happy times. Frank |
