1965 Classmates
"There is a great good in returning to a landscape that has had extraordinary meaning in one's life. It happens that we return to such places in our minds irresistibly. There are certain villages and towns, mountains and plains that having seen them, walked in them, lived in them even for a day we keep forever in the mind's eye. They become indispensable to our well-being. They define us and we say I am who I am because I have been there."

Comment:
Graduated from Knox College with a chemistry degree. Served war years in the Air Force, running a flight line of crash rescue and fire fighting helicopters, at one point supporting the renewed Luftwaffe to help them stop crashing so many of the fighter aircraft we gave them. Followed this with a law degree at University of Texas, and I still practice intellectual property law in Denver, CO. About 40 years after graduation, I took up bicycle racing as a hobby. After years of training, I entered my first real bicycle race and won my division. Just for chuckles, I will mention that I bested three other divisions of younger riders. Figured I would never do better than 100% winner, so with that I wrapped up my racing career. |
